The offensive line started by signing Darius Barnes from the University of Southern Mississippi. Barnes has been with the Bandits since 2014 and has started 28 games. Barnes was named to the second team all-CIF team last year.
Jonathan Smith, defensive back from Briar Cliff University, has played in 63 games with the Bandits since 2011. With a total of 316 tackles, his career high of 87 was in 2015. Fifteen interceptions for three touchdowns are just icing on the cake for Smith.
This will be the fifth season for running back Drew Prohaska from Briar Cliff University. His 50 games with the Bandits have resulted in 44 touchdowns and 37 kick returns.
On the defensive line, we welcome back Marcus Miles from St. John Fisher College. In his first season with the Bandits Miles had 41 total tackles, four sacks, two kick returns for 23 yards, and a touchdown.
Linebacker Marlon Lobban, University of Sioux Falls, has been with the Bandits since 2012. Lobban has career totals of six sacks, 237 tackles, three interceptions resulting in a touchdown and 11 kick returns. 2015 was his best season yet. Marlon was the number one linebacker on the 2015 all-CIF team.
Denzel Adams, defensive back from the University of Sioux Falls, joins the Bandits for his fifth season. Denzel has played in 41 games and had 175 total tackles in his time with the Bandits.
Rookie Jon Hatton, linebacker from West Texas A&M University, is no newcomer to indoor football. He spent a season with the Sioux Fall Storm before signing with the Bandits.
Johnny Bentley from Northern State University returns for his ninth season as running back with the Bandits. Since 2008, Bentley has played in 78 games, where he has accumulated 2910 rushing yards for 110 touchdowns, 940 receiving yards for 12 touchdowns and 52 kick returns for a career total of 4902 total yards. He holds team records in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.
The Bandits open the 2016 season at home against the Omaha Beef on February 27th.
