CIF To Announce New Franchise

Champions Indoor Football is set to announce a new expansion franchise on Monday, August 28, 2023. CIF Board of Directors President Wes Johnson said the league has been waiting quietly and patiently while there have been many changes announced lately in the indoor and arena football world.

"The Board of Directors have been holding weekly meetings since our annual league meeting in July. During our annual meeting the Board voted unanimously to approve the new franchise and ownership group. We know there has been a lot of anticipation throughout the indoor football scene with the announcement of new leagues, new teams, and even some teams that are changing leagues. The CIF Board of Directors has been deliberate in how we plan to move forward with announcements and updates," Johnson said.

Recently appointed CIF commissioner Mike McCoy said he is excited for the 2024 season. 

"The ownership groups that are part of the CIF are among the most secure groups I seen", McCoy said. "Champions Indoor Football will celebrate its tenth season in 2024 and the league is poised to continue for many years to come. The announcement of this new franchise will be a great addition to the league, and the Board of Directors will be releasing more exciting news in the coming weeks."
