Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) Commissioner James Bain is stepping down after almost two years of service to the league. Bain has been Commissioner of the CPIFL since the league’s inception in August of 2012 and his final day on the job will be June 30th. His plan for departure has been known to team owners for a few months. During his time as Commissioner, Bain successfully completed law school at the University of Kansas and he is pursuing ambitions within the legal field.

Bain has been involved in indoor football since 2006 and spent time in the front offices of the Wichita Wild and Sioux Falls Storm. The league’s executive committee will lead the CPIFL on an interim basis.

“I’m most proud that the team owners really believed in our vision of creating a travel friendly, regional league with a financially efficient league office”, Bain said. “Very few people thought we could accomplish what we did and the team owners should be very proud of what they have built.”
