Venom and friends work together to build a home through Habitat for Humanity
Amarillo, TX – The Amarillo Venom, along with friends, and sponsors are excited about getting to help a local family fulfill their dream of home ownership.
Throughout the past season, the Amarillo Venom football team has hosted silent auctions and raffles to help raise money for Amarillo’s Local Habitat for Humanity organization.
“This has always been a dream of mine to help build a home with Habitat for Humanity. The things they do and enable local families to do is just amazing,” stated Venom owner Stephanie Tucker. “Habitat has been one of my favorite local charities since I really found out what the whole program was about and how they helped.”
The Habitat for Humanity offers families an opportunity to not only build a house of their dreams, but work through programs that allows them to be financially sound through planning and training. Many of the families put 200 hours into the program before they get to work on their own home.
The Amarillo Venom along with another local business will be out at the home location at 2808 S. Mirror Street on Friday, September 8th from 8:30am – 4pm. If you or someone you know would like to help tomorrow or any other time, go to http://www.amarillohabitat.org to sign up as a volunteer, donate, or learn more about this great program.
