bloomington edge 1

Bloomington, IL – The Bloomington Edge, Illinois’ only indoor football team, announced this week that two of their players have signed with the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League (AFL). Dashawn Johnson and Connor Hart were both offered contracts with the Gladiators after their standout performances with the Edge. This is a great compliment to Edge coaching staff for their ability to scout, sign, and develop talent.

Dashawn Johnson (6’4”, 310) signed with the Bloomington Edge at the start of the 2017 season. He attended William Paterson University, where he started 31 of his 37 games. Johnson was a member of the 2013 All-New Jersey Athletic Conference team, starting at left tackle. He also competed in the 2014 Dream Bowl Senior Football All-Star Game to finish off his collegiate year.

Connor Hart (6'3, 200) started his indoor football career as a rookie in Bloomington. The Raleigh native played collegiately at North Carolina State University. In his 2013 season, Hart started seven games at linebacker and was the fourth leading tackler with 62 stops.

The coaching staff and front office of the Bloomington Edge wish the best of luck to these two outstanding football players as they continue on in their respective professional careers in Cleveland.

In other transactional news, the Bloomington Edge has waived wide receiver Marcus Barnett.
